Signet Ring

A signet ring is a statement of identity and ancestry; an ornamental way to signify one’s status in the world. Many millennia ago they were sometimes called ‘seal’ rings, and emblazoned with family crests used to stamp documents – a mark considered more authentic than a signature.

In the Victorian era, signet rings became more sentimental in resonance, commissioned as objects to commemorate loved ones or to mark a friendship. Easily customisable, they present an ideal surface for self-expression – whether that be by engraving initials, or adding diamonds, gemstones and other decorative finishes.
